What A Weekend!!
Firstly, a HUGE thank you to all of you who competed on Saturday July 7, in the inagural Wild Women Adventure Race! Without you, we would not have had half as much FUN
There were 43 teams lined up at the start line and it was great to see the sun shinning – it’s the first event we have held without terential rain. Despite the difficult navigating and longer (than anticipated) course, every team crossed the line with huge smiles on their faces! And, can I say I was super-impressed with the way you all tackled “The Pipe”…….Ann from Simone Perle Lingere, did say you all had to EARN your gift vouchers!!
We would like to acknowledge and thank the team from St John’s Ambulance, who provided First Aid for the event…….there were some bingles, sore knees and some cuts to attend to, and they did a terrific job.
Also a huge thank you to all of our volunteers who helped out on the day – they played a big role in helping us co-ordinate the day and ensured you all stayed on track out there in the bush!! Also a big shout out to Dave from On The Go Espresso for the coffee…….the coffee kept me going from dawn to dusk – thank you.
We would also like to thank our Sponsors – Tri Adventure (who created the concept), Cycle Zone Mooloolaba, Specialized, Mountain Designs, AREA 51, Torq Nutrition and Simone Perle. It was terrific to have such great businesses support the event!

Event Testimonials
“Nicole and I otherwise known as the Sassy Girls had just blitzed the kayak leg and leapt onto our bikes with great enthusiasm. 500 metres down the track I watched Nicole disappear into an enormous mud puddle. I was laughing so hard I forgot to stop and found myself up to my waist in mud too. The only one laughing harder was Paicey, taking photos and no help at all. Into the tunnel we went?? it’s only ankle deep? says Paicey in a squeaky voice that I now realise was him having trouble speaking because his diaphragm had gone into laughter spasm. We found the chest deep water of the tunnel very helpful to wash the mud off! On we went and being theWild Womenthat we were, we decided to turn a small 100m stretch into a 40 minute deviation onto the run track. Weren’t thos Clever Triadventure ladies suprised to see us there on the wrong mountain! Best mountain biking of the day. And LOST is just a frame of mind!! We got there eventually. Mental note to selves…..More attention to mapping details and slightly less enthusiasm. Thank you for a great day”
“Wow, what a stunning BBQ at the end and the never-ending stream of prizes……soooooo nice. We won the complimentary entry into the next race – 12 hours…Yikes!”
“Great NEW location!! It was awesome to have a different start point for a change! Also, rego was easy and it was such a great surprise to get a buff and shirt (that was women-specific sizing!!) in our bags”
“You asked for feedback, and the first thing that comes to mind for me personally is LIFE CHANGING! My friend told me about the race at book club. I do a bit of running but did not even own a bike, so naturally I was very reluctant. I read more about it on your website, took the plunge and entered. On mothers day my Giant Talon arrived, for support and company, my teenage boys got me going. We are a bike ride away from Mt Coo Tha, within 1 week, my husband was in on the fun as well, and so was the sales of the Giant cycles! In an attempt to get better at navigational skills, we discovered orienteering and even better, mountain bike orienteering! What fun. Only 2 months ago, I was assisting my bike on foot down the steep slopes…..you should see me now. I absolutely love my Mtn bike and it adds great variety to my way of keeping fit. And thanks to this AR, my family and I have discovered mountain biking and we can all do it together as a family”
